Our Mission—
Harnessing enzymes for better nutrition
At Zya, our mission is simple: to make better nutrition accessible without sacrificing the taste and enjoyment of everyday food.

We believe that improved dietary choices should be a seamless part of life, not a compromise. Current food solutions often rely on synthetic methods and reformulated recipes, leading to consumer uncertainty and dissatisfaction.
Zya shifts the narrative from synthetic interventions to natural, science-driven transformations. By harnessing the inherent capability of enzymes, we empower the consumer to make better choices, whilst championing their taste preferences.
The problem with reformulated solutions:
Over-engineered products that don’t feel or taste right

The market is saturated with ‘better-for-you’ options that fall short on flavor and rely heavily on fake ingredient substitutions.
This creates a dilemma where more nutritious choices are often less appealing in both form and taste, with conflicting information about what’s really good for us. The result? ‘Better-for-you’ products that fails to engage and benefit the wider public.
If you’re looking for a healthier alternative, why should you settle on taste? After all, if you want people to eat something, it should taste good! It’s this compromise in taste that often gets in the way of consumers making better nutritional choices.
A new approach:
From micro enzymes to macro impact
Small changes that ripple into significant results.
Enzymes are nature’s powerful change agents. Their unique ability to catalyze reactions can be harnessed not just in food production, but at the point of digestion. At Zya, we harness these micro enzymes to create macro impacts. By introducing specific enzyme ingredients into food products, we can transform nutritional profiles while preserving taste.
Our enzyme, Convero, changes the way sugar interacts with the body by converting 30% of consumed sugar into dietary fiber. This results in less sugar uptake and fiber intake that feeds the microbiome.
Taste-first approach for real lasting impact:
Why taste and habits matter
Did you know that 90% of consumers rank taste as their top purchase motivator? That’s why, at Zya, we prioritise transforming how food is digested—without ever compromising on taste.
After all, taste matters. It’s one of the biggest reasons why 95% of people struggle to stick to new dietary habits. And sometimes, when restricted from eating a specific food, people tend to overeat it later - by 133%.

At Zya, we want to make it much easier for people to stick to better choices, so that we can make lasting nutritional changes in their lives.
We don’t want to just expect people to make dietary changes, we want to encourage and empower them.
We believe that enzymes are the key to making sustainable impact, by enhancing the nutritional value of foods post-consumption with no taste compromise.

A shift toward sustainable health:
A lasting impact on personal and societal health
The impact of enzyme-powered nutrition extends beyond an individual’s wellbeing.
By making better food choices more appealing and accessible, we contribute to the collective well-being of society. Better nutrition can help reduce pressure on health and social care systems.
The societal impact of sugar overconsumption:
Obesity costs the US Healthcare system approximately $173 billion a year. In 2021/22, diabetes cost the UK almost £14 billion, an amount that is continuing to increase year to year.
Finding the solutions to the sugar driven obesity has never been more important for future health and well-being. In the US, estimates suggest that over 200 million school-aged children are overweight which makes it the first generation predicted to have a shorter lifespan than their parents.

Quote from Founders:
“We believe that small, meaningful changes in individual nutrition can create a profound ripple effect on societal health. The key lies in making these changes simple, accessible, and sustainable.”
From vision to reality:
Innovating today for a healthier tomorrow
We aim to move beyond conventional methods and embrace bioscience’s full potential. We envision a future where nutritional enhancements are part of the foods we already enjoy, driving a subtle but powerful change in how society approaches health. By adding micro quantities of these naturally-derived enzymes to foods, we can retain preferred taste profiles while improving nutrition, all without recipe reformulation.
